The experimental lines are from astronomical observations by (1) C. Cabezas, M. Agúndez, N. Marcelino, B. Tercero, S. Cuadrado, J. Cernicharo, 2021, Astron. Astrophys. 654, Art. No. A45.
The dipole moment is from a quantum chemical calculation from that work. The Ka = 0 levels are sufficiently well constrained for observations of cold and even lukewarm sources. The Ka = 1 levels are less well constrained, and the calculated positions should be viewed with some cautions. Still higher Ka can not be calculated with sufficient accuracy.
At low temperatures, it may be necessary to discern between ortho-H2NC and para-H2NC. The ortho states are described by Ka even, the para states by Ka odd.
The NKaKc = 111; J, F + 0.5 = 1, 1 is the lowest para state. It is about 12.4 cm–1 above ground.
