The laboratory data was taken from
(1) T. Amano, T. Hirao, and J. Takano, 2005, J. Mol. Spectrosc. 234, 170.
In order to extrapolate more reliably to higher values of J, a value for the sextic distortion parameter H was derived from HCN, v2 = 1, see e027503.cat. The predictions are assumed to be reliable to at least 1.2 THz.
Note: The partition function takes into account the 14N hyperfine splitting considered in the predictions for the ground vibrational state as well as contributions from the vibrational ground state ! Individual non-zero contributions are given in parentheses.
The dipole moment was assumed to be identical to that of the ground vibrational state, see e029506.cat.
