Several higher order terms were kept fixed to values from D2S or were modified slightly. Since no transition frequencies are available currently that have been measured with microwave accuracy it is recommended to view all predictions with some caution. Nevertheless, predictions with calculated uncertainties of less than 5 MHz and with quantum numbers smaller than 5 should be quite reasonable.
At low temperatures, it may be necessary to discern betweenortho-D234S and para-D234S. The ortho and para states are described by Ka + Kc being even and odd, respectively. The nuclear spin-weights are 2 and 1 for ortho-D234S and para-D234S, respectively. The JKaKc = 101 is the lowest para state. It is 6.9490 cm–1 above ground. Aug. 2011: separate para and ortho predictions are available along with separate para and ortho partition function values. Note: the spin-weight of 2 for the separate ortho predictions has been eliminated.
The dipole moment was assumed to agree with that of D2S, see e036503.cat.
