used the Yebes 40 m telescopy in the 7 mm wavelength region (rest frequencies: 58.7 − 93.5 GHz) to study the molecular content of a foreground galaxy at //z// = 0.89 in absorption toward the quasar PKS 1830-211:\\

The methyleneamidogen radical, H<sub>2</sub>CN, also known as methaniminyl, was identfied by four hyperfine components of the 1<sub>01</sub> − 0<sub>00</sub> //ortho// rotational transition. The lines show good to quite reasonable signal-to-noise ratios.
