No. L4 (2022).\\ Ethnylbutatrienylidene was detected through 27 //a//-type transitions with //Ka// ≤ 2 and 9 ≤ //J// ≤ 15 and good to reasonable signal-to-noise ratios in the course of a molecular line survey of the prototypical cold dark molecular cloud TMC-1 carried out with the Yebes 40 m radio telescope between 31.0 and 50.3 GHz. Ethnylbutatrienylidene is, after hexapentaenylidene, C6H2, and triacetlylene, the third C6H2 isomer detected in space.
