Discovery of the Elusive Thioketenylium, HCCS+, in TMC-1
Astron. Astrophys. 654, Art. No. A45 (2021).
Thioketenylium, HCCS+, was observed in the course of molecular line surveys of TMC-1 carried out at 7 and 3 mm using the Yebes 40 m and IRAM 30 m telescopes, respectively. Rotational transitions with N = 2 − 1 to 4 − 3 and 6 − 5 to 8 − 7 were identified between 32.1 and 99.7 GHz with resolved fine and 1H hyperfine splitting (not all fine structure components were covered). The CCS/HCCS+ column density ratio of 50 ± 10 is similar to those of CS/HCS+ (35 ± 8) and CCCS/HCCCS+ (65 ± 20).
