Discovery of the First Ca-bearing molecule in Space: CaNC
Astron. Astrophys. 627, Art. No. L4 (2019).
Nine rotational transitions with N = 9 − 8 to 21 − 20 were observed in emission between 72.8 and 169.9 GHz using the IRAM 30 m telecope. One transition is severely blended, a few others slightly to considerably. In addition, the signal-to-noise ratio is poor for some transitions, but reasonable for many. All transitions display fine structure splitting, and each of the FS components has U-shape typical for envelope species. The molecule is about 60 times less abundant than the lighter homolog MgNC and about similar abundant as FeCN in this source.
