Acetic acide was detected in the 3 mm region toward the massive star-forming region Sgr B2(N-LMH) by
D. M. Mehringer, L. E. Snyder, Y. Miao, and F. J. Lovas,
Detection and Confirmation of Interstellar Acetic Acid
Astrophys. J. 480, L71–L74 (1997).
The oblate paired J = Kc = 8 – 7 A symmetry transition near 90.2 GHz was detected with BIMA, the 9 – 8 E symmetry transition near 100.9 GHz with OVRO.

The detection of still further transitions in Sgr B2(N-LMH) as well as in the additional hot core source W51e2 were reported by
A. Remijan, L. E. Snyder, S.-Y. Liu, D. Mehringer, and Y.-J. Kuan,
Acetic Acid in the Hot Cores of Sagitarrius B2(N) and W51
Astrophys. J. 576, 264–273 (2002).
