A Detection of Sulfur-Bearing Cyclic Hydrocarbons in Space
Nat. Astron. 10, 401 (2026).
2,5-Cyclohexadienthione was detected in the course of a molecular line survey of the Galactic Center molecular cloud G+0.693–0.027 employing the Yebes 40 m telecope. The a-type transitions cover 31 to 49 GHz with 10 ≤ J ≤ 19 and Ka ≤ 7. Some lines are unblended, slightly blended, or the peak of the line is at most slightly blended. Trot ≈ 12.5 K was derived from a rotation diagram. 2,4-Cyclohexadienthione was not detected, its abundance is at least a factor of 2 lower than 2,5-cyclohexadienthione.
